Hosting A Child-Friendly Game Party

Posted on 09-14-2015

IMG_3193.JPGWith fall just around the corner, football season is underway and basketball season will begin soon. Sporting activities create bountiful opportunities for fun and excitement for entire families from exploring toddlers to cheering adults. When sports are involved, there are many ways for everyone to have fun!

When your favorite team competes against an exciting rival, consider hosting a child-friendly game party to celebrate. With a little planning and a winning attitude, your party will create lasting memories for children and adults. Prepare for your party by determining how many people you want to invite. Then, consider your space, budget, and the date of your party.

As you plan, consider these suggestions to make your game party a great success!

  • Create an invitation list with friends for everyone in the family to enjoy. Make calls, send emails, and consider using an online invitation service. Be sure to give your friends enough advance notice to plan to attend. Also, allow your friends to come early to watch the pre-game show together.
  • Plan a fun menu that includes finger foods, child-friendly snacks, beverages, desserts, and other menu favorites. If you plan to order food from a restaurant, call ahead to make sure your order will be ready on time.
  • Decide on the entertainment. While the game will present some entertainment, it’s a good idea to plan additional entertainment. Consider card games, video games for teenagers, children’s movies for preschoolers, and other toys for younger children. Also, choose your music ahead of time. Try to select an array of music to satisfy the styles of your guests.
  • Think about ways to entertain the children of different ages. If you have guests with an infant or toddler, prepare a quiet area with age-appropriate toys, and a place for naps. Also, consider paying a teenager to help entertain the younger children.
  • Encourage your guest to wear their favorite team’s colors and keep the atmosphere fun and engaging.

Hosting a party for friends and families with toddlers, preschoolers and older children can be great fun for adults and children. At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Greensboro, we strongly support our families and engaging activities for children. That’s why our STEAM AHEAD curriculum is designed for students and teachers to explore projects together. Unlike a normal daycare or childcare, our curriculum taps into each student’s natural interest while facilitating learning. We hope you will review the details of our dynamic curriculum, take a look at our preschool program and the additional engaging programs and activities we offer children and families.

Feel free to contact us for more details and for a tour of our Learning Academy.
